Setting UP Let’s work on the basis you’ve set up a neutral or Instagram worthy background for your online meeting, grabbed a glass of water, pen, notebook, and ELEVATED your screen so you are looking slightly up at your screen, not down.
DOWN = sad face, sags, bags and dark circles. UP = fresh, bright, happy smiling face.
My 5 top tips
- Pop some lipstick on, one with some cheerful colour in it so there is some definition to your lips or choose a gloss with shimmer so there is interest and fullness around your lips.
- Sweep on some Mascara to lift and curl your lashes, enhancing your smiling eyes.
- Apply a little concealer. Natural healthy gorgeous skin is attainable with the right skincare. If you’re skipping foundation on your days at home use a little concealer to cover any colour variations in your skin e.g under eye dark circles, redness around the wings of the nose and annoying pimples.
- Work your earring collection to full effect. Nice earrings add extra interest and will keep the viewers eyes focused on you and what you are saying. My preference and observations are to choose a style that is neat, centralised on the earlobe and stays next to your face rather than long earrings that could become a distracting pendulum of motion.
- Glasses are another terrific accessory that give form, depth and added interest. Some might even say they add an extra air of professionalism. If you can’t see the screen with glasses on – skip this suggestion!
